“We live in a verdant nation of abundant and fertile land,” said Glen G. Gutierrez, “but we had a lot to learn from Europeans about making beautiful spaces in the outdoors. I founded European Landscape and Design to bring the best of the Old World to Maryland.”
Trained by German master landscape designer, Paul Rintelen, for the past 20 years Gutierrez’s company has enhanced homes and communities by making a higher level of garden design affordable. Gutierrez created an organization that put a premium on advanced landscape architecture, but made it accessible to more families through a design/build business model. The result is an unusual organization that combines skillfully arranged indigenous plants for color and texture and seamlessly enhanced organically constructed man-made structures.
To Gutierrez and the artisans of European Landscapes and Design, the garden is more than just a business or a livelihood, it is a passionate pursuit of natural beauty.
